Original
Watercolor Amulets
and Giclee Printed Editions
|
|
Out of her study of the Kabbalah, other writings by Jewish
mystics and the Hebrew language in general, Sandi Knell Tamny
learned of what the ancients perceived as the elemental powers
of the Hebrew aleph-bet
itself.
These
"vibrations" are the material from which all of reality
sprang. They are quite powerful, and gave rise to the concept
of the amulet, a personal invocation of the powers of the alphabetic
characters in an attempt to spiritually inspire, embolden and
protect the individual. The Tamny Collection proudly displays
a collection of contemporary amulets that uncover the powers of
these universal forces by combining the letters in various configurations.
The Tamny Collection offers several of these extraordinary amulets
in two versions. For one lucky individual, the original handpainted
artwork will enhance any fine art collection. Also available is
a limited, signed and numbered edition of giclee prints.
Giclee (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a modern printing
process where the original painting has been computer scanned,
then ink-jet printed onto artists-quality pH neutral rag paper.
Giclee prints are extremely faithful to the original, and
make it possible for any person to enjoy the amulets at a fraction
of the price of the originals. Each giclee print is delivered
in a 100% acid-free museum quality rag mat, ready for framing
by the purchaser to his or her own taste.

The title for this extra-large amulet comes from Exodus verses
14:19-21, wherein the 72 names of God are revealed. The 72 triads
were created by combining the first letter of verse 19, the last
of 20, the first of 21, and so on. The resulting names were
said to have been revealed to Moses at the Burning Bush, and uttered
when he parted the Red Sea. They are regarded to be
the most powerful, magical incantations ever deciphered, and there
is no good that cannot be achieved, nor evil overcome, when their
powers are invoked.
